Question and Answer

Prior to the West End stint, fans of Never Forget were asked to send in their questions to the fansite and these questions were put to Tim - this was the result:

Tim: First of all I wanna say thank you to everyone who's asked the questions and anyone who deems me important enough to answer them...Ok, here goes.... brace yourselves, cos being a Belgian, I am known to 'waffle' on a bit!

1. What are you most looking forward to about touring with Never Forget again?
Tim: However sad it sounds, first of all I'm looking forward to working with the other boys again, which is such a blast every day and makes the show such a joy to work on. And of course getting the show back on the road again in a slightly new format and hopefully bringing joy to lots and lots of theatre going patrons! Also can't wait to get out on that stage in my bare bottom again (which was always sooo liberating...uhm yeah)

2. What do you do after a show to relax?
Tim: Various things, depending what mood I'm in. Either grabbing a drink in the pub AFTER having had a leisurly shower or going home and watching one of my favourite tv shows (24, Brothers & Sisters, Studio 60) or a good movie with a big tub of Ben & Jerries ice cream...heaven!

3. If you could play any of the other characters in the show, who would you pick?
Tim: Difficult question that... probably Jose (for the comedy) and Ash (for the sing) or Tracy (for a change) but realistically I wouldn't be right for any of those and I love playing Adrian (from Geek to Chic in 2 hours!) so wouldn't wanna change that either!

4. Who do you get on with the most in the cast?
Tim: We all get on extremely well, so wouldn't be able to choose just one! How dare you even ask!

5. Do you have a routine or ritual that you follow before going on stage?
Tim: Not really, apart from going to warm up, getting a coffee, putting on some make up and slick back my (by now extremely -for me) long locks and put on my costume all while listening to some extremely random music (usually Carrie Underwood or some new Broadway musical) and singing along at the top of my voice -all in the cause of warming up the voice of course!

6. What is the most challenging part of the show?
Tim: Trying not to corpse at various bits of the show. Especially when the other people on stage are doing their best to make that extremely hard! part from that, its doing 'Relight My Fire' , trying to get enough energy to sing AND dance after having sat on my backside backstage for 20 mins...

Finally, give us one word to describe what we can expect from Never Forget in 2008!
Tim: More of the same... a good night out for the whole family!

~*~

Following the West End debut of Never Forget, the fans were invited to put their questions to Tim once again:

1. Hi Tim. I was just wondering how the West End audiences have reacted to the show, and if they have surprised you in any way.
Tim: The West End audiences have surprised us really. The show has been so well received all over the country that we thought that once we hit London we would get more of a lukewarm response, but the opposite is true... Every show the audience laughs, claps, sings, dances and cries along the same way they have done while we were on tour. That's when you know you're part of a special production!

2. Is there any competition between you and the other 4 about who gets more attention from fans??
Tim: A bit of healthy competition is always good, but the 5 of us are so down to earth that there never is any competition where fans are concerned. Everyone likes different flavours of ice cream (not that I'm comparing us to ice cream of course, but you get my drift hopefully) and variety is the spice of life...

3. What has been the hardest moment for you so far during your time on Never Forget??
Tim: The hardest moment was probably waiting for the show to find a West End home as it took a long time, but I think as a result, the show has been polished and changed to the best that it can be.

4. If you could be in another West End musical right now which would you choose?
Tim: Difficult question, I'd love to be in a show that's coming into London next year called Legally Blonde the musical, as I think it's one of the best shows ever written! (and yes there is no shame in liking chick flicks)

5. How do you react when people ask for a photo, or an autograph, just like they do with the real Take That?
Tim: It is very flattering for people to wait at stage door to ask for a picture or an autograph as it proves that we must be doing something right for people to make that effort. (I'm sure Take That get a thousand times the amount of people we get wanting our autographs though) And as you may know I have problem smiling in photographs and also not always the prettiest picture to get my just out of the shower bewildered look!

6. Do you get embarrassed when you have to come out in those gold pants... I would be really scared!!!!
Tim: The gold thong is just part of the tongue-in-cheek comedy of the show and although it was reasonably embarrassing at first (who'd want to see me half naked on stage anyway!) you just have to get on with it (and then I thought, Nicole Kidman got totally naked at the Donmar, so who am I?!) But I have to say that my gym visits have been more frequent since!

7. Hiya Tim, this is a weird question but it's been bothering me for a while... who is in that gorilla costume?!?!
Tim: The gorilla is actually Sophia [Ragavelas] before she puts her make up on... just kidding. The Gorilla suit gets worn by actor extraordinaire David O'Dell who wears it with pride and even made it onto the poster!!
